Are you great at telling a story?

Would you like to amaze and inspire our guests by bringing the historic buildings and significant collections to life?

This role is about starting conversations, sharing stories and igniting curiosity. You’ll work as part of a supportive team to deliver an excellent experience for visitors of all ages, from delivering scripted stories as a costumed character to taking visitors on ghost tours and sharing fascinating objects from our collection.

If you can deliver an amazing performance every time then we’d like to meet you!

We’re holding open auditions on Saturday 26th January between 12pm and 7pm.

Successful candidates will inspire our visitors in a variety of roles, providing historical facts, sharing objects and gathering stories, leading school groups, talks and tours. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of presentation in costume and for accurately sharing information on the site.

Useful attributes for the role include a keen interest in history, experience in presenting to a group and an outgoing nature.

We aim to include everyone’s voice in our programme, as an equal opportunities employer we are eager to develop a workforce that represents the makeup of the city to better represent and learn with our visitors.
