Gain an Arts Award: Explore qualification with us

Welcome to Arts Award with the National Justice Museum!

Arts Award is a national qualification, which can ultimately contribute toward UCAS points into higher education.

It is a brilliant way for young people to get involved in the arts, build creative and leadership skills, and achieve a national qualification. Arts Award can be achieved at five levels, and these activities are at the Explore level.

Activities

Our videos and logbook will take you through some brilliant arts activities with artist Clare Taylor. The activities draw inspiration from our museum exhibition ‘Constraint and Restraint’ and Ruth Singers’ Criminal Quilts project.

You can also explore our virtual exhibitions and look at all the things we do here at the museum by visiting other pages on our website  including our virtual exhibitions on the links provided below.

Our Arts Award Explore offer explores social justice, empathy and creativity. Artist Clare Taylor leads the activities in the videos and the downloadable Arts Award logbook will help to guide you. You will also be able to make and share your own work.

Feel free to use our logbook as inspiration to make your own logbook. You can use a sketchbook or scrapbook that you already have if you prefer.

Getting Started

It could not be simpler. Start by watching our guidance videos and then read the short preparation section in the logbook before each activity. Then, follow the steps in each activity listed in your logbook with the help of the activity videos listed below.
