Thursday 16th September: Gangs of Narrow Marsh

In the dark depths of Nottingham’s past, a new class of criminals rose from the slums.

From highwaymen to convicts on the run, these were leaders of the underworld who rubbed shoulders with immigrants and locals on the edge of survival.

They thrived in the notorious Narrow Marsh district, once a marshy old town that had grown into an industrial slum.

Find out about the dubious characters who ruled with brute force. And discover why, despite vanishing from the map 100 years ago, the area remains a place of infamy right until the present day.
