Key Stage 3: University and The Law and Futures In Law

University and the Law is a 2 hour session, visiting the moot courtroom at either the University of Manchester or University of Bolton, provides an important opportunity for pupils to engage with local higher education institiutions and to start thinking about future career choice

Futures in Law is a full day at the University moot courtroom where learners will engage with law undergraduates/graduates and understand the pathways to progression into a career in law. Pupils will develop their skills to reanact a real trial taking on the character roles of a courtroom.

Hate Crime – The 19 year old defendant is accused of posting grossly offensive and racist material on her Instagram account

Cyberbullying – The defendant is 15 years old and charged with Harassment, sending abusive Facebook posts and threatening to harm the victim.

Knife Crime – The 17 year old defendant is accused of stabbing his best friend and killing him.  He is charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon

Cost: £7.50 per student  (2 hour session) £11 .00 per student (full day session) – Maximum of 30 students per visit
