Key Stage 2: Making Laws

This interactive session is ideal for year 5 and 6 pupils. The activity gives an overview of how laws are made in the UK and looks at how both the House of Commons and the House of Lords work.

Students will get the opportunity to:

  • understand how laws are made in parliament
  • consider why we need laws
  • gain an understanding of key debating techniques
  • experience a parliamentary style debate

Curriculum links: SMSC including British Values, PSHE and English including Spoken Language

Duration: 1 hour
