October Activities

Included with paid museum admission

We are gearing up for a fun-packed October half-term, with plenty of activities and events for the whole family to enjoy. With the introduction of a brand new, great value annual pass, there’s always something to keep you coming back.

Faces of Justice (Family Trail) – Monday 13 October – Sunday 2 November
Explore the museum and objects through the faces they contain with our accessible family trail. Collect your leaflet from the exhibition within the National Justice Museum.

Joanna Ledwich Prison Escape –  Monday 20 & Monday 27 October, 10:30am and 4pm
Get hands-on with history in this special object-handling session at the National Justice Museum. Join Joanna Ledwich as she attempts to escape the prison and discover how she succeeded in 1831.

You will also find her throughout the day in the museum looking for the items she has lost from her escape kit; will you help her find them so she can escape?

Object Handling – Thursday 23 & Thursday 30 October, 11:30am – 1:30pm
Get hands-on with history in special object-handling sessions in the double cell.

Discover rarely seen items from our fascinating collection, each linked to the 30 Objects Representing Justice exhibition, and uncover the powerful stories they hold about justice, power, and resistance.

Millbank Record Activity – Wednesday 22 & Wednesday 29 October, 11am and 3pm
With a roll of the dice, find out what crime you committed, what your family background was and where you were sent to complete your prison record.

Once complete, compare yours with real entries from the Millbank Records while in the double cell.
