VICTORIAN STUDY DAY

Please note: The London Metropolitan Archives is currently only able to offer online workshops. The first section of this Study Day will be delivered online, and the Courtroom Workshop section is available either as an online or on-site session. Please get in touch with us to discuss the options available.

 

During this Victorian Study Day activity pupils will:

  • Visit the London Metropolitan Archives (online) and the Royal Courts of Justice (online and on-site available)
  • Examine original archives to gain and social and historical context of justice in the Victorian era
  • Prepare and reenact the real case of a Victorian boy accused of stealing
  • Discuss and debate historical shifts in the law and compare to the present day
