Ghosts and Echoes

Imagine you have died, and all that’s left of you is a chalk white plaster face. Can all of the details of a life be captured on its powdery surface, or is there still a voice underneath, waiting to share a tale?

This Halloween at the National Justice Museum, we are looking at Death Masks and the secrets people took to the grave with them. Looking at our records of mugshots, everyone will make death masks for a character and then write their final moments, last words, and echoes they leave behind. These could be silly, sweet or perhaps, given the date, a little... spooky!

This workshop is suitable for all ages and will look at themes of punishment, death and memory. This workshop is led by Ben Macpherson, a poet and playwright with more than a decade of experience leading community arts events.
