Writing in Confinement: the Art of Queer Confession

Explore new ways of writing poetry and prose, combining a queer lens with Oulipo-inspired literary constraints to produce surprising and electric results. We’ll look at artefacts including Radclyffe Hall’s The Well of Loneliness and Oscar Wilde’s prison cell door, before responding to a series of writing prompts that encourage you to play with omission and codification to centre the unspoken, say the unsayable and let your secrets hide in plain sight. Exploring queerness as a linguistic mode, this workshop is open to everyone. Run by poet and editor, Amy Acre.
