Enjoy unlimited return visits for 12 months with every general admission ticket

The National Justice Museum in Nottingham is excited to launch a brand-new annual pass, giving visitors the chance to return to our iconic Nottingham attraction over and over again for free for an entire year.

From 1st July, every paying visitor will be automatically upgraded to an annual pass, giving families, history enthusiasts, and curious visitors the chance to return as many times as they like over a year. There are also new family ticket discounts being added, with savings available for families of 2 adults and 2 children, 2 adults and 3 children, and 1 adult and 3 children, making a day exploring history even better value.

Located in the heart of Nottingham’s Lace Market, the museum is housed in the grand and impressive Grade II* listed Shire Hall, once used as the county’s seat of justice, punishment, and even executions. Over five fascinating floors, our building houses an imposing Victorian courtroom, sprawling Georgian gaol, and dark, damp cells that date back hundreds of years. The museum opened in 1995, making this year our 30th anniversary of bringing Nottingham’s criminal past to life!

Meet the people who lived and worked in Nottingham County Gaol - from gaolers and matrons to prisoners and judges - ready to share real stories from the history of this unique building. Take part in a historical trial re-enactment – you might even find yourself in the dock - and experience one of Georgian England's favourite entertainments - a public execution. 

In our free exhibition spaces, explore modern themes of social justice, inspired by items from our vast collection. Discover the history of forensic science, immerse yourself in displays created by local communities, and see real artefacts from famous cases like Bow Street Dock and items from the Great Train Robbery up close.

The museum is always evolving, with new exhibitions and performances added regularly. Our talented team of interpreters bring real-life historical trials to life, inspired by the latest exhibitions and artifacts, meaning no two visits are ever the same!

The National Justice Museum also operates The City of Caves, the largest publicly available section of Nottingham’s extensive cave system. The City of Caves is also launching an annual pass scheme, meaning that visitors can return to explore this ancient subterranean wonder again and again. 

Immerse yourself in the extraordinary atmosphere of the ancient caves hand-carved from the sandstone beneath Nottingham’s city centre, including WW2 air raid shelters and a medieval tannery. In the UK’s largest network of caves, experience a place beyond imagination, and enjoy a truly memorable adventure in history.
