Our creative sessions are free and open to all. Join us to make and create together and contribute to our growing museum! The sessions will be led by artists, makers, and writers, all of whom are influenced by this unique museum. Register using the links below.

Papier-Mâché Excavations
Wednesday 1 April: 10am-12pm and Wednesday 8 April: 1-3pm

Join us this Easter Holiday to make Papier-Mache bowls and vases inspired by the Bellarmine Jar, the Chamber Pot and the Venetian Glass in the 30 Objects Representing Justice Exhibition. These objects were discovered during excavations carried out during the museum's construction between 1994 and 1997.

You will explore the current exhibition objects, finding inspiration in their shapes, colours, patterns, and textures, and design your own papier-mâché bowl or vase that represents you and your visit to NJM.

The workshop is suitable for participants 7+

Wednesday 1, 10am: Free tickets, booking required. Click here.

Escape with Joanna Ledwich
Thursday 2 and Thursday 9 April: 10:30am - 4pm

Join Joanna Ledwich as she attempts to escape the prison and find out how she actually did it in 1831.

You will also find her throughout the day in the museum looking for the items she has lost from her escape kit; will you help her find them so she can escape?

Free activity, included in your museum ticket cost.
