Everyone has a story, that deserves to be told

Everyone has a story that deserves to be told: Victorian Women, Incarceration, and Collage. Step inside the historic walls of the National Justice Museum (formerly the Galleries of Justice) to uncover the hidden narratives of Victorian women caught in the cycle of crime and punishment.

While historical records often reduce these lives to mere facts, they were complex individuals like us, with untold stories. In this powerful and evocative creative workshop, artist Fi Marks will guide you beyond the bare biographical details. You will delve into archival materials and artefacts, using them as inspiration to speculate on the individual experiences of these women. Through the tactile process of mixed-media collage, you will layer fabric, paper, and paint to craft a unique, bespoke artwork. This is more than a craft session; it is an act of historical empathy and creative tribute—giving voice and beauty back to those who were silenced by history. No prior art experience is necessary. Caters for all abilities.
