Treasured tools, everyday items embellished: Metal Clay

Join artist Amanda Donnelly for a hands-on workshop exploring metal clay to create something new. Exploring the idea of treasured tools, taking the mundane everyday items we couldn’t do without and how we might embellish them with a charm or personalised detail to celebrate their worth or how a much-loved tool may be passed from one generation to another

Metal clay is a beautiful medium to work with. Given the artist's background in ceramics, the discovery of metal clays was quite literally a revelation.

The scale and detail lends itself to such a personal exploration, from the finest fingerprint to intricate forms.

Working with the fragile clay to create something metal, solid and everlasting, and experiencing the excitement of seeing the made object emerge from the kiln never loses its joy.
