Nottingham Trent University Immersive Installations

Students from BA (Hons) Design for Theatre and Live Performance at Nottingham Trent University present a series of immersive installations at the National Justice Museum, inspired by the upcoming temporary exhibition ‘Working Through It'.

Each piece explores hidden histories through site-specific storytelling. Rooted in research, the installations engage visitors, connecting past labour stories with present reflection, while championing sustainability through the creative use and reuse of materials.

Josh Ashwell’s ‘The Roots of Reform’ in the Women’s Ward Cubicles.

Jonty North’s ‘What I Make, Makes Me' in the Debtors' Cells’.

Emily Keaveney’s ‘Working in Prison’ in the Women’s Laundry.

Michelle Cave’s ‘Brain Labour’ in the 1833 Ward.

Please note that additional sounds are playing in the Brain Labour and What I Make, Makes Me installations.
