Pieces of Me: Stories from Nottingham brings together the voices of refugees and asylum seekers living in Nottingham through art, poetry, textiles, and storytelling. Created in partnership with Refugee Roots and artist Elahè Raofi, the exhibition explores identity, belonging, and the right to work through pieces made over a six-month series of creative workshops.
From woven tapestries and communal tablecloths to poetry walls and artwork inspired by objects in our collection, each piece reflects personal experiences of displacement, resilience, hope, and home. Visitors are invited to listen, reflect, and consider how work, creativity, and community shape who we are.
